1964 Corvette tops Carlisle’s Florida fall sale

Pennsylvania-based Carlisle Events ended its 2017 season with the Fall Florida AutoFest, which included an auction where bidders paid nearly $300,000 to buy vehicles.

Staged at the Sun ’n Fun campus in Lakeland, more than 400 vehicles crossed the auction block. The top sale was $79,180 for a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette (prices include buyer’s fees).

A 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T convertible sold for $72,225.

Carlisle’s next event also is at Lakeland, the Winter AutoFest scheduled for February 23-25, 2018.
