“This car was purchased five years ago from the original owner who took meticulous care of the car and only stored in indoors,” the listing says. “71,000 miles, still have the window sticker.”
The third-generation Corvette had a lifespan from 1967 through 1982. The car’s most successful year was 1979, when sales achieved 53,807 units, and today’s feature car is one of those very units. The listing on ClassicCars.com contains a more detailed breakdown of volume totals for the year: 6,707 cars were Corvette Red, and 9,316 cars had the “Oyster” interior color. This is reportedly a two-owner car, and it comes well optioned with power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning.
Under the hood, we find a rebuilt numbers-matching 350cid small-block V8 mated to a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission. The listing outlines some of the maintenance that has been carried out historically: The motor was rebuilt in 2016 and received upgrades including Edelbrock parts for the aluminum heads, intake, and carburetor. More recently, it received a new starter, power steering pump, alternator, battery, radiator, thermostat, valve covers, and BFGoodrich tires. “Car drives and handles great,” the listing says. With a laundry list of service items like that, it is no wonder!
