AutoHunter Spotlight: 1968 Pontiac GTO

400ci V8 and a 4-speed manual

-

Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a restored 1968 Pontiac GTO.

“During the restoration, the body was media-blasted to bare metal, then disassembled for repairs,” the listing states. “The rear quarter panels, door skins, package tray, and cowl were replaced with reproduction parts. According to the seller, all rust damage was repaired using the correct gauge of sheet metal and MIG-welded. The welds and body seams were treated with rust inhibitor and sealed. The bodywork was covered with self-etching primer and polyester high-build primer, then block-sanded and disassembled again for the application of two-stage Sherwin-Williams Starlight Black paint. Following that, the panels were wet-sanded and buffed before being put back together.”
