If you want to chase a dream and pocket 100 grand in the process, Chevy has the right opportunity for you. The winner of Chevrolet’s “Lead Dream Chaser” contest receives $100,000 and a 2024 Chevy Trax for three-months to pursue his/her dream or passion project.
The contest starts on Friday, January 13, and those wishing to leave the rat race for three-months can submit a short video about themselves, their dream and how they would use the cash and SUV to achieve it. Entrants will also share how they will use social media to document their funky adventure. Chevy is accepting submissions until February 13, 2023, with finalists announced in March and the winner selected in April. The contest is open to folks 21 years or older and a legal resident of the United States.
Chevrolet teamed with Kickstarter CEO Everette Taylor to find the ideal candidate to serve as Lead Dream Chaser. Taylor has substantial experience in developing successful businesses and supporting others in achieving their professional goals.
“The past few years have caused many to consider turning their ideas and ambitions into reality, and I’m excited to help Chevy find a qualified person who will pursue their dream,” said Everette Taylor.
What would I do with $100,000 and a Chevy SUV for three-months?
That’s a tough question because I can’t remember the last time I had a passion project on my mind, or even a long stretch of time when I wasn’t in a cubicle from 9 to 5. As I type this, I am trying to think of what I’ve always wanted to do if I had an extended sabbatical from work and enough money in the bank to cover my bills.
I think I would finally start working on my screenplay for a Wizard of Oz reboot as an action flick with Lindsey Lohan as Dorothy. This would definitely be a passion project because I can’t imagine anyone would want to read the script, but you gotta chase your dreams.
