The Lotus Eletre hyper-SUV will make its world debut this week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is Lotus’ first model outside the sports car segment and first five-door production vehicle. The four-wheel drive Eletre has battery capacity over 100kWh and a power range from 600hp to 900hp. A 350kW charger will deliver a 400km (248 miles) range in just 20 minutes, and the car’s target maximum WLTP driving range is approximately 600km (373 miles).
Lotus is also premiering the ultimate three-car garage at Goodwood, with the Eletre being joined by the Emira, and Evija hypercar. The recently unveiled Emira GT4 will partake in the Goodwood Hill Climb on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button will drive the Emira GT4 in the Goodwood Hill Climb at selected times.
“Last year we were the featured marque at Goodwood Festival of Speed and all eyes were on the Emira,” said Matt Windle, Managing Director, Lotus Cars. “The attention it attracted and the deposits we took on the stand were phenomenal. Fast forward 12 months… another Festival, another new car from Lotus. The Eletre is equally as exciting for us; the most significant milestone yet in the ongoing transformation of Lotus and something genuinely different to everything else on the market.”
Cadillac released a second set of images of the CELESTIQ show car. The show car draws from Cadillac’s 120-year history and the interior is described as “open and spacious, and creates an experience unlike anything else with a focus on meticulous detailing overlayed on a clean cutting-edge design.”

Volkswagen American and U.S. Soccer teamed with the You Can Play Project to support, celebrate and raise funds for LGBTQ+ Pride Month this June. The Pride-themed auction includes Women’s and Men’s National Team player signed game-issued jerseys and Volkswagen training tops, Pride captain’s armbands and Pride corner flags. The auction is open through June 30, 2022, and all proceeds go to the You Can Play Project.
The You Can Play Project is an organization dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes, coaches, and fans no matter their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. The organization partners with sports leagues and other organizations to progress locker room and spectator culture, increase participation in sports among LGBTQ+ youth, and consult on inclusion policies.
“With You Can Play hitting our 10-year anniversary this year, we are deeply grateful that a company like VW has raised their hand to support our work and invigorate our push to our mission,” said Glenn Witman, Co-Founder, You Can Play Project. The Men’s and Women’s National Teams are wearing special Pride jerseys with rainbow-colored numbers during their friendly matches this month. The training tops provided by Volkswagen on auction are signed by U.S. Soccer players Christian Pulisic and Walker Zimmerman, as well as Fiona Kida, a Tanzanian-American musician, writer, director and producer who will perform the national anthem at the USWNT match on June 28.
To me equality means everyone is treated equally. Not separating people into groups of “pride”. Wasn’t it a bad thing to have “white pride”? So how is this “pride group” a good thing? There’s no equality here. It’s asking for special treatment. I don’t know how this is “car news”. It’s politically dividing car people.
