Mopar is the parts division of Chrysler and the name that’s synonymous with performance is a blend of “MOtor” and “PARts”. For car aficionados Mopar tends to mean a performance vehicle produced by Chrysler under the Dodge and Plymouth brands.

My favorite I had was the 1969 dodge dart GT with the 340. I had installed a crower kit in the engine and a cheetah valve body in the transmission.
1961 Chrysler 300G Convertible. Crossrams, fins, and the top goes down! 15″ wheels, swivel seats, first year of alternator, second year of unibody and dual quad crossram manifolds, canted headlights. What’s not to love?

I second the bote for the 1970 AAR Cuda. I had one and have always regretted selling to a dealership as a trade-in on a 5.0 Mustang.

When I was growing up my Dad would always take me “Showroom Shopping” after the new year models came out. I was 13 in 1970 when we walked into a Chrysler/Plymouth showroom and there sat a 1970 Tor-Red Superbird. I immediately fell in love. I have never had the opportunity to own one, but it will always be the ultimate dream car for me.
The 1956 Plymouth Fury, the first Fury. Fastest Mopar of the time.
Some people with Hemi Darts might call your bluff on that one. They were 10 second cars in the 1/4 mile right from the manufacturer. Look up 68 Dart Hemi. Weigh virtually 3000 lbs and 426 racing Hemi packs a punch!

To all y’all that failed to call out Christine, watch your six. For me? The Ethel Merman commanded Imperial (“We’re in the Imperial, and we’re last!?”) seen in the great ensemble film “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad… World”, cream white drop top, individual headlight buckets and gunsight taillights- certainly Mopar made quicker and faster cars, but in the early ’60’s an Imperial was a statement of new money gone modern. And Ms. Merman will rise from her grave and mother-in-law screech for days if you don’t agree. Any Imperial is good for me, but those early ’60’s barges have a special place in my ’59 born heart.
