While the world has been crumbling, Dodge has been busy developing the next-generation EV Charger. Gone are the Hemis and Hellcats and everything else that has made America great, with the Charger moving towards with what we are being told is the future. Is EV the future? I’ll sit back and watch from the sidelines and see how the dust settles.
But, for now, the 2025 Charger will be revealed on March 5, 2024. According to Car and Driver, it appears to be quite faithful to the Charger Daytona SRT Concept that debuted last year, which means its appearance has inherited much of the muscle of the outgoing model but in two-door form. With the new front end that invokes a modern take of the 1968-70 Charger, this 2025 Charger almost looks like stylists traveled back to 1970 and used what they know from today to tweak the design.
Of course, Dodge ceremoniously put the Hemi to pasture seemingly due to the world-is-changing-due-to-future-government-mandates, but rumor has it that the twin-turbo Hurricane 3.0-liter inline-six gasoline engine will also be available. What that will look like remains to be seen, but in less than a month we should know more.
Keep it
After purchasing 37 Dodge, Jeep and Ram products – Stellantis has permanently lost me as a customer and I will NOT change my perspective.
I agree with Greg no more dodge for me. My first car 1965 last one 2016.
Looks decent. My guess is that the gasoline engine option will outsell the all-EV over ten to one. At present, a hybrid model would seem to make more sense. The national electrical infrastructure is still not yet sufficiently in place to satisfy enough people.
If they gave me one……I don’t want it…..
Stellantis, you are dead to me. No European based car company can ever understand the American performance market and the freedom of the American road represented by the muscle car. The frst rule of marketing is “know your customer”, Stellantis you do not. The performance market saved Chrysler and now you have abandoned us. You will not be forgiven. I will keep my 2015 R/T HEMI and you’ll never sell me an electric replacement. Stellantis, “you are dead to me”; forever, if you don’t wise up.
It’s a GREAT looking car…too bad its electric.
Dean…I’m with you 100%. I’ll keep my 2018 Scat Pack Challenger and they will NEVER sell me an electric car!
Hope the 3.0 Hurricane 6 makes it to production. This would be a sweet-sounding motor and offer better handling balance than any Hemi or even heavier EV pack.
I have been a staunch Chrysler product fan since 1961. I hope this new Charger finds acceptance. We will see.
1961? Brave man! 🙂
There’s definitely going to be a twin turbo 6 in it.
I think it’s awesomecand you people need to evolve with the times. The internal combustion engine had it’s time. I also do not know why all the hate for instant on-demand torque and 1000+ HP? Don’t you guys live for power and fast drag times?
