As much as people love accessorizing their classic vehicles, it was only a matter of time until someone came up with the idea of an add-on that adds not only style, but also versatility. Small utility trailers have been around in the hot-rodding community for decades. Some automakers have even taken things a step further by offering original equipment color-matched trailers, like what happened with the 1997 to 2002 Plymouth/Chrysler Prowler. Here is a similar approach in a clean resto-mod Chevrolet:

The trailer itself has a front-mounted spare tire and two jerry cans for fuel, both of which provide added peace of mind for those longer journeys. The bright orange exterior theme is carried through to the trailer with graphics and wheels that match the tow car identically. I like the subtle image of an eagle on the front end of the car that transitions to red and purple flames as the design moves rearward.
The added cargo space could make this a great cross-country combo, and the cabin of the car has both air conditioning and heat, so theoretically this could be a year-round comfortable cruiser. The listing says that power comes from a rebuilt V8 mated to a Turbo 350 automatic transmission, and the drivetrain has accrued fewer than 2,500 miles since the rebuild was completed.
By the way, in the case of the Prowler, the matching trailer was built by a company called Ajax and it was a $5,000 option. The car’s hitch system was designed exclusively for it. So, you couldn’t get away with trying to tow a jet ski or anything else (at least without voiding a warranty). A Prowler enthusiast website says that about 11% of Prowlers were sold with the optional trailer.
Unlike the Prowler, this Chevy’s trailer is one-of-a-kind. “Runs good, sounds tough,” the listing says.
