In a perfect world, most car enthusiasts would love to have parking for our classic vehicles in our bedrooms, living rooms, and kitchens. Unfortunately, the majority of typical home floor plans don’t allow for that. Fortunately, there is a 1950s-themed café in Cave Creek, Arizona that can give you the satisfaction of sitting in a booth that is actually made from a cut-up 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible.
I made the 30-minute trek from Phoenix recently to experience it for myself. The café is part of a nondescript modern-looking business park, so from the outside you’d never know about the special interior décor. The Bel Air is stunning in its candy-like deep red finish, and the body is complete with all its chrome and anodized gold badging. In place of the interior is a four-person booth.
The “Arizona Burger” hit the spot for me, and it was complete with cheddar cheese, jalapeño peppers, bacon, avocado, and chipotle aioli. Heart and Soul also has a variety of breakfast offerings, wings, Mexican entrees, and even a ribeye steak if you feel so inclined. On Wednesdays, the café offers all-you-can eat fried chicken for $17 beginning at 4:00 p.m. Bring your appetite for that one.
Adjacent to the dining room where the Bel Air is parked, you will find an Old West-themed saloon with a variety of adult beverages for your happy-hour drinking pleasure.
Many people prohibit consuming foods and beverages in their classic cars. In this case, it’s not only allowed, but encouraged. Go check it out.

The restaurant is open every day except Monday, and business hours on most days are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Just don’t get any drool on that Bel Air’s glistening paint job.
Tyson – good idea for a restaurant + the car will be preserved being inside all the time. I checked out the menu; it looks like a good place to eat and hangout.
