I Don’t Understand: Drive the Bid Podcast

Why do people like these vehicles?

-

This week’s Drive the Bid podcast from AutoHunter.com has Derek Shiekhi and I riffing on cars that are part of the collector hobby, but we just can’t figure out why. Sure, neither of us are arbiters of what should be collectible/popular and what’s not, but everyone needs an outlet to deal with ruminations, no?

We really, really tried to be objective here, but obviously no one is going to be successful. In the end, the hobby is a big tent and everyone’s invited.

We also discussed the health update of Steve Magnante (stable), news on the Centennial Edition F-150 Super Snake from Shelby American (with a supercharged version only for post-title sales), and color trends over the past five years. For our AutoHunter picks, Derek chose a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette and 1963 Impala, while mine were a 1969 Pontiac Firebird and a 1971 Oldsmobile 4-4-2.

Of course, AutoHunter Cinema has plenty of other videos and podcasts created by the experts behind ClassicCars.com, the world’s largest online collector car marketplace. AutoHunter brings forth a dedicated live customer support team, quicker auction listings and exclusive benefits for both buyers and sellers.

Diego Rosenberg
Lead Writer Diego Rosenberg is a native of Wilmington, Delaware and Princeton, New Jersey, giving him plenty of exposure to the charms of Carlisle and Englishtown. Though his first love is Citroen, he fell for muscle cars after being seduced by 1950s finned flyers—in fact, he’s written two books on American muscle. But please don’t think there is a strong American bias because foreign weirdness is never far from his heart. With a penchant for underground music from the 1960-70s, Diego and his family reside in the Southwest.
