AutoHunter Spotlight: 2017 Audi R8 V10 plus

1,000 miles per cylinder

-

Featured on AutoHunter, the online platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 10,000-mile 2017 Audi R8 V10 plus. Power comes from a 610-horsepower 5.2-liter V10 connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. Notable features include dynamic steering, 20-inch wheels, navigation system, and Bang & Olufsen sound system. Finished in red over a black leather interior, this R8 includes the owner’s manual, clean CARFAX report, and clear title.

If you’re not up on your R8s, you may be surprised to learn that there’s already been two generations of this unusual Audi sports car: the first launched for the 2007 model year, while the second arrived for 2016. Though originally featuring a 4.2-liter V8, a 5.2-liter V10 joined the ranks for 2009. Since the debut of the second-gen model, the R8 has exclusively used the V10. For 2015, a special plus-spec model added 70 horsepower for a total of 610 but, after a 2019 facelift, Audi started to call the more potent version “performance.”

The Dynamite Red body features black-accented side blades, mirror caps, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser. Exterior features include LED headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights, Audi Beam puddle lights, mesh front and rear grilles, and dual black exhaust outlets. Ceramic coating was applied to the paint, wheels, and brake calipers in 2018.

Gloss black forged aluminum 20-inch Y-spoke wheels are wrapped in low-profile Nitto tires.

The cockpit is fitted with heated, 18-way power-adjustable black Fine Nappa leather bucket seats with diamond-stitched inserts. Glance above and you’ll find a similarly-stitched Alcantara headliner. The dashboard, instrument panel top, and door panels all feature Fine Nappa leather as part of the Full Leather package. Other interior items include carbon fiber trim, 13-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, MMI Navigation plus, LED door lighting, and other items that you’d expect on a vehicle of this caliber.

Instrumentation includes Audi’s 12.3-inch digital virtual cockpit with a 10,000-rpm tachometer and customizable auxiliary gauges.

The mid-mounted 5.2-liter V10 offers a prodigious 610 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a console-shifted seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive.

Stopping on a dime is never a problem thanks to ventilated 15-inch ceramic front discs with six-piston calipers and ventilated 14-inch ceramic rear discs with four-piston calipers. Handling is assisted by automatic stability control and dynamic steering.

The auction for this 2017 Audi R8 V10 plus ends on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. (PDT)
