Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auctions will feature two dozen collectible vehicles from the Steve Todhunter Collection, including some of the most iconic American vehicles during this year’s Palm Beach Auction, April 13-15, at the South Florida Fairgrounds. The compilation of American horsepower spans six decades of superb design and engineering and will all be sold with No Reserve, including a pair of Ford GTs and a highly desirable 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Gator Grain coupe (Lot #726.1) powered by its matching-numbers V-Code 440ci Six-Pack engine. “Steve Todhunter thoughtfully collected some of the most enviable performance vehicles ever built by American automakers,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “This is an impressive collection that hits so many of the high notes. From important and desirable MOPARs to contemporary supercars, Steve curated an incredible selection of vehicles, many of which he has owned for several decades. I look forward to the excitement in the auction arena when bidding begins for these iconic collectibles on our auction block in Palm Beach.”

Lot #728 – 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A

Several desirable MOPAR collectibles from the Steve Todhunter Collection are headlined by a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Gator Grain coupe (Lot #726.1). Paired to its matching-numbers engine is a Chrysler A833 4-speed manual transmission with a Hurst pistol-grip shifter. Finished in Go Mango, this Six-Pack Challenger was also produced with the code V1G Gator Grain textured vinyl roof covering. The collection of MOPARs also includes Todhunter’s matching-numbers 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A (Lot #728), which is one of just 989 produced with a 4-speed transmission, and an award-winning, matching-numbers 1969 Plymouth HEMI GTX (Lot #726) with a 4-speed transmission that was one of just 99 such cars produced in that year.

Ford-powered vehicles in the Todhunter Collection feature two late-model Ford GTs, including the 2020 model (Lot #725) finished in Triple Yellow and powered by a mid-mounted 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine with 660 horsepower that continues to carry the “Ford v Ferrari” theme into the modern age. The 2005 GT (Lot #725.1) finished in Mark IV Red is powered by a supercharged V8 engine paired with a 6-speed transmission with just 538 miles.

“The diversity, quality and documentation of these vehicles make the Steve Todhunter Collection truly stand out,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “The muscle car wars of the 1960s and early ’70s ignited a race that drove American ingenuity and design that are reflected in this collection of several popular V8-powered models. From 1957 Chevrolet Nomad two-door station wagon (Lot #376.1) that proved that style and utility are not necessarily mutually exclusive, to a high-performance 2020 Ford GT, this collection is outstanding in so many ways.”

Highlighting collectible Chevrolets in the Steve Todhunter Collection is a Cranberry Red 1970 Chevelle SS 396 convertible (Lot #727.1) powered by its matching-numbers RPO L78 V8 engine producing 375 horsepower paired with a rebuilt M21 4-speed manual transmission and a G80 posi-traction rear axle. Ordered new by a GM executive, it features the Malibu trim level along with black upholstery, white Rally stripes and the details and extras offered by the Super Sport option package.

Lot #681.1 – 2022 Corvette C8.R

Also featured within this collection is a 2022 mid-engine Corvette C8.R convertible (Lot #681.1) powered by a potent 6.2-liter direct-injection V8 that delivers 495 factory-rated horsepower. This Hypersonic Gray Metallic Stingray convertible celebrates Team Corvette’s winning ways on the track with the big-ticket IMSA GTLM Championship C8.R Edition package, including a long list of factory- and dealer-installed equipment, plus the upscale 3LT trim and Z51 Performance Package options.
