Figuring out what car you would drive for the rest of your life is almost a philosophical concept for car lovers. Do you go with style, performance or your heart when choosing that vehicle? The rest of your life is a long, long time and you shouldn’t rush this answer.

So dear readers, What car would you drive for the rest of your life?

Give us your take in the comments section. Like my high school history teacher always told me, “There are no wrong answers.”

  1. Since at 77 my life is likely to be short I go for a 1972 Porsche 911s. I had one once, the best car ever. Except it ate 2 trannies and various electrics. The car taught me the meaning of “trailing throttle oversteer” which I survived. I’d love another one.

  2. my first Porsches are/were 987, 981 Caymans, and I really like them. But some other Porsches would be also fun and forever candidates.

  3. Without a doubt, a Porsche 911 (could be one of many types). From its conception it was designed as a sports car that 2 could pack luggage, take on a trip anywhere, anytime. Car is virtually problem-free, and carries with it the greatest tradition of design continuity of any car ever made.

  4. A TJ generation Jeep Wrangler with the 4.0L and 5 spd manual, dual tops.. Not fast, go anywhere (almost), perfect for summer, perfect for winter, lots of fun.
Oh wait, I already have one!
