Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a 1956 Ford Thunderbird.
“This frame-off-restored, Concours-winning 1956 Ford Thunderbird with $100K in restoration receipts is powered by a 4-barrel 312ci V8 engine,” AutoHunter notes in the listing. “The restoration, including the rebuild of the engine and transmission, was professionally completed by Alan Stouffer of Kansas City, Missouri.”
The refinished Goldenglow Yellow exterior is complemented by a Colonial White hardtop with portholes. It features a continental kit, front and rear chrome bumpers, and a forward-hinged hood.
With seating for two, the bench seat is refinished in black and white vinyl with matching door panels, and black carpeting. Amenities include a Town and Country AM radio with new tubes, cigarette lighter, and climate system.
Under the hood is a 312ci V8 engine with a 4-barrel carburetor, finned aluminum valve covers with the Thunderbird logo, and a chrome air cleaner lid. The engine is paired with a floor-shifted Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission.
It rides on 15-inch body-color steel wheels with full hubcaps and bias-ply Goodyear Super Cushion whitewall tires.
The sale includes a clear New Jersey title, restoration photos and receipts, the original window sticker, the Concours grading report, the uninstalled original oil bath air cleaner, transmission and engine manuals, extra distributor points and spark plugs, and a new storage stand and cover for the hardtop.
