AutoHunter Spotlight: 2002 Ford Lightning SVT

4,000-mile truck was pace vehicle for NASCAR race at Miami

-

Up for auction on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a 2002 Ford Lightning SVT.

“This silver 2002 Ford Lightning was used as a pace truck for the 2002 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the Homestead-Miami Speedway,” AutoHunter notes on the Lightning’s listing. “It is highly original with less than 4,000 original miles and the owner states that it features its original tires and air cleaner.”

Under the hood of this low-mileage SVT truck is a supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter V8 2V SOHC engine with an oil cooler and the original air cleaner. The SVT engine is paired with a column-shifted 4-speed automatic transmission with an auxiliary transmission. The horsepower flows through a Traction-Lok axle.

The original silver exterior has a black bed cover, factory aero kit, SVT and Lightning emblems, and fog lamps.

The truck has a gray suede interior featuring black leather SVT inlays and a 6-way power driver’s seat.

The sale of the vehicle includes its original window sticker, extra key fob in its original package, and owner’s books. It has a clean CARFAX report and a clear North Carolina title.

This Ford Lightning SVT’s auction ends on December 17, 2021 at 11:40 a.m. MST.
