AutoHunter Spotlight: 1966 MG Midget

British roadster has been resprayed in its red color

-

Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a 1966 MG Midget.

“This red-over-black 1966 MG Midget roadster is powered by a 1,098cc inline four engine equipped with the original dual SU carburetors and a 4-speed manual transmission,” AutoHunter notes in the listing. “The interior features the original dashboard and door panels and black vinyl bucket seats with white piping.”

The clutch, brake and master cylinders, starter and solenoid were all replaced in August 2021. This engine received a compression test with a result of 150 pounds for each cylinder.

The British roadster rides on 13-inch wire wheels that feature knock-off spinners and the seller states that the Dunlop tires have less than 1,000 miles.

The exterior’s trim was removed and the body, underside of the hood, trunk and door jambs were resprayed red by the previous owner.

Aftermarket seat belts were installed and the vehicle features the original steering wheel and dealer-installed British Motor Corporation AM radio.

The sale of this MG includes an MG driver’s handbook, Haynes repair manual, collector’s guide, maintenance and repair documentation, an uninstalled header panel, and original black tonneau cover.

This MG is located in California with a clear title in the seller’s name and the auction ends on December 13, 2021 at 11:20 a.m. MST.
