Up for auction on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner showing just over 15,000 miles on the odometer.
This example is one of 20,766 produced for the 1957 model year after the model debuted at the 1956 New York Auto Show.
The car is finished in a two-tone Flame Red and white paint scheme and equipped with a power-operated retractable hardtop that automatically stows the roof panels in the trunk at the push of a button.
The Fairlane comes with twin chrome side mirrors, chrome bumpers, and windshield wipers and washer.
Inside, the interior is outfitted in two-tone red and white airweave vinyl upholstery over the front and rear bench seats and features a push-button AM radio, dash-mounted analog clock, and manually cranked windows.
Power comes from a 312cid Thunderbird V8 factory rated at 245 horsepower and mated to a 2-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission.
The engine bay appears to have been kept in factory form and comes complete with “Thunderbird Special” valve covers, a four-barrel carburetor and stock cast exhaust manifolds leading to a dual exhaust system.
This Fairlane’s auction ends December 3 at 11:00 a.m. MST.

The 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner is my favorite car since I first saw it driven by Perry Mason. I believe it was one of his top favorite cars too.
