Nitto rolls out new, quieter off-road tire

Company says Recon Grappler A/T is aggressive off-road but reduces noise on pavement

-

Performance-tire producer Nitto has introduced a new off-road application, the Recon Grappler A/T that it says “offers an aggressive tread pattern engineered for limited road noise while providing unmatched traction off-road.”

Nitto Tire U.S.A. Inc. says the Recon Grappler A/T’s “deep sidewall lugs provide additional biting edges for aggressive forward traction.”

The tire is available in 11 sizes, ranging from 20 to 24 inches, and in 66 sizes from 17 to 24 inches. The tire has a 55,000-mile limited treadwear warranty.

“The Recon Grappler is a true all-terrain option for compact, ½- and 1-ton trucks and SUVs, designed to embolden enthusiasts to take on any adventure,” the company said in its news release.

“Situated within Nitto’s Grappler lineup between the Ridge Grappler M/T and the Terra Grappler G2, the Recon Grappler provides quiet road driving and unmatched traction off-road. With deep sidewall lugs extending 5-7 millimeters, these tires add traction and an aggressive look to any vehicle while maintaining stable performance in both dry and wet conditions.”
