If you loved the compact pickup trucks of the 1970s, you have to appreciate the Alpha Wolf, a retro-styled but electric-powered pickup unveiled by the California-based Alpha Motor Corporation.
The Wolf shares its underpinnings with the Alpha Jax, an electric 4-wheel-drive crossover utility vehicle. Alpha also recently unveiled the Ace coupe, an electric urban vehicle.
“Wolf, which represents balance, endurance and friendship, is positioned as a fun utility truck for two passengers with a spacious cargo bed on an electric platform, combining versatile driving performance, durability and clean power,” according to Alpha’s website.
“It comes in a four-wheel drive (4WD) or front-wheel drive (FWD) system with a towing capacity of 1,360kg (3,000 pounds) and acceleration of zero to sixty miles per hour in 6.2 seconds. The vehicle is intended to be equipped with a 75 to 85 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery with an estimated 275 miles of range.”
Alpha says Wolf, which it calls a “multipurpose electric utility truck,” is 188 inches long, 76 inches wide and 66 inches tall, with a truck bed that’s 65 inches in length.
“Wolf strongly demonstrates the range and versatility of the Alpha Ace product line, and is designed for consumers looking for a solid four-wheel-drive utility truck without the carbon emissions,” the company said. “More importantly, it represents Alpha’s commitment to move humanity with innovations in electric vehicle modularity, customization flexibility, and practicality.”
Alpha says pricing ranges from a base of $36,000 to as much as $46,000, presumably for a fully equipped 4×4 version.

Nice price point; I’d like to see a bit higher mileage range, but these vehicles are starting to look better and better to me.
I’d love an AWD street version without all the 4×4 gear and street tires.
