In 1947, as we showed last week in our Saturday matinee, the cautionary tale of hot-rodder juvenile delinquents. This week, it’s now 1953 and the rebels and lone wolves have organized, creating some of the foundations of car culture as we know it today.
The film follows a misfit teenager with a passion for hot rods and trouble. He moves to a California town where he learns the errors of his ways and becomes a model hot rodder.
Albeit more positive, it is still a cautionary tale. Once again, the cars are cool, and the rise of organized racing and car clubs makes this a valuable history piece.
