The oldest licensed automobile in Germany is, of course, a Benz, which also claims to be the oldest street-legal car in the world. The Video of the Day shows the 1894 Benz Victoria runabout taking what appears to be a brisk drive, its driver/caretaker describing the experience along the way.
“Normally, cars like the 1894 Benz Victoria are confined to the museum,” the video description reads. “But the 125-year-old horseless carriage was licensed for public roads”
The Benz usually can be seen on display in a transport museum, but it is kept road ready by the museum staff and licensed for driving in normal German traffic. Though, perhaps not practical for the autobahn.
