Aston Martin, Brough Superior combine talents to create new motorcycle

-

Two iconic British brands, Aston Martin and Brough Superior, have teamed up to launch a limited-edition motorcycle, which will be unveiled November 5 at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy.

The luxury automaker and the motorcycle manufacturer joined forces to produce a two-wheeler that will combine the attributes of both companies, according to a news release, and will be the first motorcycle branded as an Aston Martin.

The collaboration came about because Aston’s chief creative officer Marek Reichman is a motorcyclist and has a personal connection with Brough Superior.

“This is a fascinating and very popular project for myself and my team,” Reichman said. “The opportunity to collaborate with Brough Superior has given us the chance to bring our own unique views on how beauty and engineering can combine to create a highly emotive piece of vehicle design.”

Brough was a celebrated British motorcycle brand founded 100 years ago, which during the 1920s and ’30s produced powerful and beautifully crafted Superior models, considered to be “the Rolls-Royce” of motorcycles.  They are highly valuable and desirable today among collectors.

While the Brough company perished in 1940 at the start of World War II, the Brough Superior motorcycle brand was restarted in 2013 to produce a modern but retro-looking line of high-end V-twin bikes.

No photos or technical details have been revealed prior to the launch of the new motorcycle, but the expectation is that it will be something special that departs from the usual motorcycle-show unveilings.
