Mecum adds vintage farm trucks to spring tractor auction

-

Around 400 vintage farm tractors and 600 pieces of farm-related Road Art will be on the docket for Mecum Auction’s 2019 Gone Farmin’ Spring Classic sale, scheduled for March 28-30 at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport, Iowa.

Mecum said the auction will be the world’s largest of its kind.

The docket also will include a selection of vintage farm trucks, each at least 25 years old.

“Trucks have been a staple on American farms for more than a century, serving as natural stablemates alongside their tractor brethren, and Gone Farmin’ is excited to carry on that long-standing tradition,” the auction house said.

Two International trucks — a 1928 and a 1975 — a 1937 Ford BB 1.5 ton truck and a 1948 Willys Jeep truck are slated to cross the block.

But the star attractions will be the tractors. More than 10 private collections will be offered at the sale. Among them will be the collection of Kenny Kass, who has been restoring vintage tractors for half a century. Kass has consigned a 1918 Waterloo Boy R and a 1920 Waterloo Boy N to the auction.

Also on the docket is a 1914 Case 20-40; a 1931 McCormick-Deering Iron Mule, an original self-contained dump tractor; a 1967 International 1206 FWA; a 1974 Oliver 2255 FWA, and a 2010 John Deere 8225 R.

The auction catalog is available on the Mecum Gone Farmin’ website.
