What’s the hottest vehicle category among those bidding at collector car auctions these days?
“Memorabilia is crazy right now, real hot,” said Johnny Ransom, business development manager for GAA Classic Cars.
Ransom recalled that back in March, when GAA auctioned the contents of the Memory Lane Classic Cars museum, more people turned out to bid on the more than 1,000 pieces of automobilia and petroliana than were there to bid on the 250 cars and 20 motorcycles on the multi-day docket.
GAA’s annual fall collector car sale takes place November 1-3 at Greensboro, North Carolina, and on each of the sales days, Friday and Saturday, the first items across the block will be 21 pedal cars from the John Robert Jenkins estate.
Bidding on the pedal cars will begin at 10 a.m. each day.
Ransom said Jenkins’ 42 pedal cars figure to sell for between $2,000 and $10,000 each.
