You’ve heard about walking a mile in someone’s shoes? Well, forget that, because now you can drive many miles in the Life.Limitless shoes from off-road specialist Land Rover and shoemaker Clarks.
Three styles are being launched for fall 2018 in a line of shoes that “draw on the brands’ shared reputation for design and innovation, inspired by Land Rover’s capability and versatility,” Land Rover said in its announcement.
“The three designs cover all terrain from the metropolis to the mountains. The lightest style, called CLR.51N, is created with the city in mind. The mid-range CLR52.N shoe is the most versatile design, while the third, CLR53.N has been engineered for protection, stability and comfort in rugged environments.”
Land Rover and Clarks said that for the next five years, two Life.Limitless collections will be launched, one each fall and one each spring, and all designed around the principles of grip, environment and stability.
“Partnering with Land Rover on this project is incredibly exciting,” said Jason Beckley, chief brand officer at Clarks. “There is an obvious synergy between our brands, not just through our shared British heritage but also through both companies’ dedication to design detail and innovation.
“Much like the Land Rover vehicles, the shoes are terrain appropriate, providing practicality and comfort in equal measure to the wearer, elements that are core to our DNA.”
Speaking of the next five years, Land Rover also has announced that beginning in 2020, all of its vehicles will be offered in an “electrified” version, ranging from mild hybrids to fully electric.
