The Pick of the Day is a big bruiser of a truck, a rugged SUV with loads of style and capability. The four-wheel-drive 1977 Chevrolet K5 Blazer also looks to be in great condition, keeping its vintage appearance but upgraded with modern power and features.
Blazers, Ford Broncos and Toyota Land Cruisers are hot tickets on the auction circuit these days, with strong prices that make them worthwhile restoration projects. This Blazer looks like a well-loved truck that’s ready to roll, on or off road, and it’s offered at an affordable price.
While so many of these Blazers have been thrashed and trashed, this one has a gleaming paint job, shiny chrome and a fresh Chevy 350 crate motor under its broad hood. The restorer resisted customizing the truck along with its upgrades, other than new paint and a good-looking set of custom wheels shod with BF Goodrich all-terrain tires.
“There are a lot less of these round-headlight K5s running around these days,” says the Lutz, Florida, dealer advertising the Blazer on ClassicCars.com. “So, the classic Chevy front end really gives this one extra distinction.
“Of course, what’s really grabbing everyone’s attention is the paint. The Cordova Brown was part of the investment in a quality modern application that has high gloss and shine. It also helps to highlight the beefy design of the K5 Blazer. And because you can see the flat sheet metal and its creased lines so well, it’s a sign of a life well-lived.”
Well-lived indeed since this Blazer seems like it could take on any number of personalities: a show stopper at the next cruise-in, a family hauler, a tower of boats and campers, and a master of backwoods trails.
Despite their brawny size, Blazers are nice-driving vehicles, and this one has been outfitted for non-stressful road trips.
“You have cushy bucket seats up front, and it’s long-haul comfortable with fold-down armrests, cup holder center console, and cruise control,” the seller notes. “The stereo has even been upgraded to a modern AM/FM/CD/DVD touchscreen unit that has modern Bluetooth. And you can tell plenty of attention has been paid to this Blazer just by the way … much of the interior trim looks and feels new.”
The Blazer has been raised slightly for looks and clearance, and the four-wheel-drive system features a two-speed transfer case, along with TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering and front disc brakes. The 350cid V8 is fitted with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust.
As they say, it’s a lot of truck for the money, with an asking price of $23,995.

I’m a bit surprised at the choice of color but it being an off road type vehicle it kinda fits.
