For the 53rd year, the LA Roadsters Car Club holds its annual show at the Pomona Fairplex on June 17-18. The club has grown to be one of Southern California’s most dedicated and historic car clubs and — with over 800 cars showing — attracts the largest gathering of pre-1936 hot rods and roadsters in the world.
The LA Roadsters Car Club originated in 1957 as a small group of enthusiasts. Today, the club maintains exclusivity with 28 active members, 11 lifetime members, five honorary members, and 19 associates, easily identifiable by their standard uniform of red shirts and white pants.
In addition to the roadsters, the show has space for pre-1977 classic cars, sedans, and trucks in addition to a swap meet, performance parts vendor midway, model car contest, and a “Cacklefest,” a line of vintage front engine nitro-fueled dragsters that are all running at the same time to display flames, fumes, and horsepower.
The public is welcome to experience the show starting June 17 from 7 a.m. till 5 p.m. and the following day from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. General admission is $20, children ages 6-12 are $10, and children ages 5 and under get in free.
Somebody hire a proofreader that knows something! A sedan delivery IS NOT a roadster as the caption for the ’36 states.
