Turquoise paint and tailfins go hand-in-hand with this special 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible. Technically, the color goes by “Larkspur Blue” but it’s an unmistakable and iconic glimpse into fabulous 50s culture and design. This car was subjected to a full frame-off restoration and was driven only 75 miles since completion. Under the hood resides a 283cid V8 which is upgraded with a four-barrel carburetor and feeds power to the rear wheels through a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. There’s lots to love here, with plenty of period-correct accessories like a continental kit, dual sideview mirrors, a Wonder Bar radio, and bumper guards. Capping off the look is a set of wide-whitewall tires on steel wheels with spinner hubcaps. This car sold for $154,000 (includes fees) at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale and is a strong indication that the collector market for “tri-five” Chevrolet models is still alive and well!
