This week on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, we have a collection of vehicles handpicked by our Journal writing team. Make sure you check out all of AutoHunter’s current listings here.

1953 Plymouth Cranbrook

Dumpy styling didn’t do Chrysler Corporation vehicles any favors in this era, but they are solid and will run forever. One-family-owned since 1953, this Plymouth is for the whiners who complain about the cost of the hobby. Click here to view the listing.

1998 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

Some say THE performance bargain can be found with older Corvettes like this 345-horsepower C5, and it’s difficult to find a reason to disagree. Car and Driver said, “Rock-solid feel, easy top operation, practical and spacious, and seriously fast makes this the most desirable Vette since 1967.” Click here to view the listing.

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air

Like them or not, but Tri-Five Chevys will always be hot, and this stock-looking hot rod has been blessed with a four-speed manual — refreshing in a time when it seems most hot rods are built for aging Boomers. Click here to view the listing.

1958 Studebaker Silver Hawk

I think I’m in love with this car. A stock Silver Hawk doesn’t move me, but one with a supercharged 289, four-speed manual and tasteful presence sounds like it’ll move in style. I especially like the rear fenders shorn of its fins. Click here to view the listing.

1967 Pontiac Firebird

This car is curious. It’s done well, with special kudos going to the interior. But the builder left it with the original 326 two-barrel — why? It’s demanding a hotter Poncho motor to go with the looks. I guess that’ll be for the buyer to handle. Click here to view the listing.

1955 Ford Thunderbird

When I was a kid, these were always at the car shows. It seemed everybody wanted one! But, like all things in life, things evolve, and it’s fallen a few rungs in popularity. Still, the two-seater T-bird is an iconic, tasteful cruiser from America’s Atomic Age. Click here to view the listing.

1975 Fiat 124 Sport Spider

I have absolutely no interest in these, but props need to be given to a little Pininfarina-designed sports car with DOHC four, five-speed manual and four-wheel disc brakes. What was going on in America at the time? The Italians certainly were forward-thinking in comparison. Click here to view the listing.

1980 Datsun 280ZX

Enthusiasts prefer the pre-1973s due to the smaller bumper, but the Z-car’s styling continued to be strong despite federal bumper standards. This 10th Anniversary 280ZX (one of 2,500) features a five-speed manual transmission and T-tops so you can get your Disco Stu mojo on. Click here to view the listing.

1940 Chevrolet Super Deluxe

Nineteen forty is one of those years where it seems every car looked good. While I lean towards the 1940 Ford, Plymouth and even the Studebaker Commander, there’s no denying that this year’s Chevy styling was strong. Click here to view the listing.
