In the continued saga of “What’s going on at Chrysler Corporation has me panicked!”, the news from Auburn Hills this time is not about Dodge but, rather, Chrysler, specifically the 300C. In this final hurrah, the 2023 Chrysler 300C will be limited to 2,000 vehicles.

The 300 plays several roles in Chrysler history. Back in the day, the “letter series” was THE banker’s hot rod and American horsepower hero for the mid-1950s/early-1960s. Then the 300 became a complementary series of hardtops and convertibles with a sporty bent. And in 2005, it returned as the 300C as Chrysler’s saloon for the masses.

“We’re celebrating the Chrysler 300 and it’s iconic legacy in the automotive world,” says Chrysler brand CEO, Chris Feuell. “The Chrysler 300 changed the automotive world in so many ways, and we will carry that spirit of ingenuity forward as we transform Chrysler with a fully electrified future and breakthrough customer experiences.”

With a new tri-color badge (on the grille and decklid) that harkens back to Chrysler’s letter-series past, the 2023 300C will have the best performance you have seen in this model: zero to sixty in 4.3 seconds. Wow, that’s faster than that Countach that was on my wall as a kid! Quarter-mile ETs are 12.4 seconds, all coming from a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 producing 485 horsepower. It’s connected to a modern version of TorqueFlite that features eight speeds that Chrysler says “optimizes fuel economy while offering maximum performance with 160-millisecond shifts.” Other performance equipment includes 20 x 9-inch forged wheels, red four-piston Brembo brakes, 3.09 limited-slip rear, active damping suspension, active exhaust system and black routed exhaust tips.

With color choices limited to Gloss-Black, Red Velvet, Bright White, the 2023 Chrysler 300C features black Laguna leather seats with silver stitching. The front seats also feature the new 300 logo embossed. A 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system seems to be the automotive equivalent of Marshall stacks. Then there’s the 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system and all those other techy doo-dads with branded names like Lane Departure Warning Plus, just so you know you can drive in something of distinction and arrive home safely.

Cost will be $55,000 plus whatever your state charges. Place a deposit now at reservation.chrysler.com for the final internal-combustible Chrysler so you can go out with a bang.

  1. Who runs these companies? When are they going to stop with the..
“We are looking forward to the electric vehicle transformation” nonsense.?

  2. Chrysler Corporation is a conglomerate of corporations. Automotively it has been on life suppout since the ’70’s. To survive over the years, it has merged with Mercedes, Pugot, and currently with Stellantis, under the guidance of Crhistine Feuell, a shining star from Ford.

IMHO Stellantis Chrysler will soon lean heavily toward non-combustion automobiles…
