Dodge Announces 2023 Challenger/Charger Scat Pack Swingers

The next round of Dodge’s “Last Call” digs into its heritage

-

Folks, it’s time for the next round of Dodge’s “Last Call” special-edition cars for 2023. Once again, Dodge has concocted a special series of Challenger and Charger Scat Pack models before the brand goes electric, this time mining its heritage to produce the new Swinger.

Scat Pack Swinger models distinguish themselves with a quasi-retro exterior and interior cues. Hues will be limited to F8 Green, Sublime and White Knuckle, with the interior featuring green accents. Only 1,000 of each will be produced, both only in Widebody models.

“The name says it all – the originals had a unique, fun character, and that’s the same reaction we’re hoping for with our 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger R/T Scat Pack Swinger models,” says Dodge brand chief executive officer Tim Kuniskis. “Dodge Swinger models have always held a unique spot in the Dodge muscle-car pantheon, and these modern-day models bring that fun back to life.”

But let’s look back at some Mopar history: The Swinger was originally used as a name for an entry-level Dart hardtop introduced in 1969. There also was a performance-oriented Dart Swinger 340, which was produced in 1969-70. The Swinger name continued through 1976, by that time playing the role of mid-line hardtop model. As such, it’s silly to think the Swinger name has resonance to inspire a heritage-based modern muscle car … yet here we are.

Let’s take a gander at what makes a Scat Pack Swinger:

Challenger: Starting with the Plus Group and Shaker Package, the 2023 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack Swinger includes the following equipment:

  • Gold School Challenger grille badge
  • Gold School R/T Widebody grille badge
  • Gold School painted Shaker intake
  • Gold School Scat Pack + Bee spoiler badge
  • Gold School Bee fender badges
  • Retro Swinger rear fender graphics
  • 20-by-11-inch Gold School wheels
  • Black six-piston Brembo brakes
  • Mod Grain wood-like aluminum interior bezel textures
  • Nappa/Alcantara seats with green stitching and green Dodge Rhombi logo
  • Green Swinger interior instrument panel badge
  • Green interior accent stitching on console and doors

Charger: Like the Challenger, the Scat Pack Swinger includes the Plus Group and the following equipment:

  • Gold School Scat Pack + Bee grille badge
  • Gold School Bee fender and decklid badges
  • 20-by-11-inch Gold School wheels
  • Retro Swinger rear fender graphics
  • Black six-piston Brembo brakes
  • Mod Grain wood-like aluminum interior bezel textures
  • Nappa/Alcantara seats with green stitching and green Dodge Rhombi logo
  • Green Swinger interior instrument panel badge
  • Green interior accent stitching on console and doors

As with previous and future “Last Call” special-edition models, Dodge Challenger and Charger Scat Pack Swinger models will be allocated to specific dealerships. You can find pricing and dealer information at DodgeGarage.com when vehicle ordering opens in the fall of 2023.
