A new Charger Super Bee for 2023

Dodge creates another “Last Call” buzz

It’s a happening thing at Dodge! Seven “Last Call” special-edition models slated to be announced through November as the performance Mopar brand plans on getting out of gasoline with a bang. Last week, it was the Challenger Shakedown, and now Dodge has announced Car #2 of the series: the 2023 Charger Super Bee.

The original 1968-71 Dodge Super Bee was created to be a companion to the Plymouth Road Runner, a budget-priced-and-equipped muscle car. Originally based on the Coronet, the Super Bee moved to the Charger series in its final year, and then it was revived for the later-model 4-door Charger for several years starting in 2007. Its purpose in modern times was to have a nice balance of capability both on the street and the strip (ironically, the purpose of Dodge’s original Road/Track model), and that tradition will continue for 2023.

Dodge plans to built only 1,000 Charger Super Bees for 2023: 500 Scat Pack vehicles in B5 Blue, and 500 Scat Pack Widebodies in Plum Crazy. All will feature standard drag radials, adaptive damping suspension with Drag Mode, SRT hood with functional scoop and dual heat extractors, and SRT black exhaust tips.

“The Dodge Super Bee is more than commemorative of a cool heritage name — it is also a Charger variant of the Challenger 1320 grassroots race package,” says Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer. “The special-edition 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee once again offers a Dodge vehicle that is equally at home on the street or on the drag strip.”

The 2023 Charger Super Bee will also feature Super Bee badging on the grille and front fenders, Super Bee exterior graphics on the hood and the rear fenders, black Mopar hood pin kit, red four-piston Brembo brakes, and Super Bee logos throughout the interior, plus the Carbon/Suede Package and Plus Group. More details on the 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee can be found at Dodge.com.

In the meantime, hold your breath because the next Dodge “Last Call” model will be announced on September 7, 2022. Mopar to ya!
