Jeff Gordon, Chase Elliott and Dale Jarrett to appear at charity luncheon for pediatric cancer research

The August 30th luncheon will benefit the Phoenix Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders

-

Phoenix Raceway announced that Jeff Gordon will be the guest of honor for the upcoming NASCAR Championship Ignition Luncheon on August 30. Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the Phoenix Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

“Few drivers have made an impact on NASCAR like Jeff Gordon, and he continues to be a driving force today,” said Phoenix Raceway President Julie Giese. “Even better, Jeff is a relentless champion for pediatric cancer research, and we’re happy to partner with him on a great event that will drive positive results for the impactful work being done at Phoenix Children’s.”

The four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion will be joined by 2020 Cup Series champ, Chase Elliott, and NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett will serve as master of ceremonies.

“Chase Elliott and Dale Jarrett are champions on and off the track, and we’re overjoyed they are joining us for such a great cause,” said Phoenix Raceway President Julie Giese. “I know the battle against pediatric cancer is near and dear to both of them, and collectively, we will continue doing all we can to help continue the fight.”

Gordon is a NASCAR Hall of Famer with 93 NASCAR Cup Series race victories and four titles in a career that spanned 25 years. He’s also a two-time winner at Phoenix Raceway, which temporarily renamed the track in his honor prior to his final race in 2015 at the one-mile oval. The Vallejo, California native spearheads the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation, which supports the research of pediatric oncologists to develop new treatment for children.

The Chase Elliott Foundation has teamed with Napa Auto Parts to have a paint scheme designed by a pediatric cancer patient in Georgia for the No.9 Chevrolet for the September 4th Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. The design will be featured on Elliott’s fire suit, helmet, gloves and shoes that he will wear during the race. The race-worn gear will be auctioned to raise funds for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

The NASCAR Championship Ignition Luncheon will be held at the Arizona Biltmore on Tuesday, August 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
