Featured on AutoHunterthe online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this
modified 1965 Ford Mustang fastback. The pony car has had a frame-on restoration with
some added GT and Shelby influences. It features several new exterior, interior, engine,
suspension, and brake components added during the seller’s nine years of ownership, including
fresh paint, redone interior with modern amenities, power front Wilwood brakes, Powermaster
150-amp alternator and aluminum 3-core radiator, among other modifications.

The upgraded 289ci V8 is paired with Hurst-shifted 4-speed manual gearbox. This maroon first-generation Mustang is available now from a private seller and comes with a dyno printout, receipts and a clear Washington title in the seller’s name.

The exterior has been repainted in factory-correct Vintage Burgundy (code X) and
complemented by white GT stripes along the sides and twin racing stripes overhead. Features
include body-color front and rear spoilers, inboard GT driving lights, hood scoop, hood pins,
Shelby side scoops and GT real valence with exhausts. According to the seller, the rubber seals,
vent windows and rear glass are new.

The gray 15 x 7-inch American Racing Torq Thrust mags are shod with BFGoodrich Radial T/A
tires. The front brakes have been replaced with power front Wilwood discs.

The interior has been furnished with a new black vinyl TMI Pony interior plus an aftermarket
wood-rimmed steering wheel, Mustang GT dashboard and Bluetooth-compatible Custom
Autosound USA-740 vintage-look radio connected to new 9-inch speakers.

Vehicle stats are displayed on an AutoMeter 120-mph speedometer and Ford Racing gauges
that include readouts for the oil pressure, coolant temperature and voltage. The 5-digit
mechanical odometer shows 1,300 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

Under the hood you’ll find an upgraded 289ci V8 that has been rebuilt and bored .40 over. It
comes equipped with a variety of aftermarket parts including Scorpion Racing Products rockers,
Melling lifters and high-volume oil pump, Crane camshaft and timing chain, Eagle connecting
rods, Sealed Power eutectic pistons, Hastings plasma moly piston rings, Dura-Bond Universal HP rod bearings, and much much more.

The small-block is hooked to a Toploader 4-speed manual. On a dyno, this engine has delivered 273 net horsepower at 5,700 rpm and 280 lb-ft of torque at 3,700 rpm through an Eaton Detroit Locker with 3.40 rear gears. A dyno printout and records for the work performed on the Mustang will be included with the sale.

The underside has been modified with a Global West front Monte Carlo bar and rear subframe
connectors, new rear axles, Timken seals and bearings, and Concours traction bars. The
suspension features MOOG ball joints and KYB shocks. In addition, the engine has been
connected to a new exhaust system.
