There is a lot of excitement over the launch of the new Nissan Z . The car is a nice retro inspired design that nods to the original 240Z that made the Datsun/Nissan brand famous. The waiting lists are long and the new Z while affordable is not really an entry level car. It is a great car and exactly the kind of car that Nissan needs to continue the Z car legacy.
It is also a modern car with turbos, driver aids, and is anything but analog in its driving experience. It is a true modern sports car in every way and the perfect new Z car.
If you are like me though you may find yourself looking for a sports car that offers a more involved driving experience, something simpler and yet still a capable and well-built car for taking on those Saturday drives on twisty roads. You might also want that car to have some modern conveniences such as good AC and phone compatibility.

I had the opportunity to drive a 370Z a few years back while attending Arizona Auction Week and came away very impressed. The 3.7-liter naturally-aspirated V6 rated at 332 bhp not only sounded great, but also offered strong performance. I also loved the styling with its stunning coupe looks and interesting details like the vertical door handles.
On the road the 370Z was as much fun as a certain two-door car from Stuttgart, offering a 0-60 mph time of 5.1 seconds and covers the ¼ mile in a tick above 13 seconds flat. These numbers are not only better than the standard 2010 Porsche Cayman, they are also equal to the higher spec Cayman S.
The Pick of the Day 370Z is located in Salem, Oregon and has covered 18,746 miles from new. It is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox and looks to be in exceptional original condition.
I am not sure why but despite its exceptional styling, competent road manners, and Porsche-like performance the 370Z seems to be overlooked by many sports car buyers and only really on the radar of Nissan fans. This is a good thing for a buyer, due to the escalating prices on used and new cars in the last 18 months, as the 370Z represents a true bargain.
To reinforce that point, this 370Z is being offered for what I want to call a steal with an asking price of $26,500. For reference the cheapest sub-20k mile Cayman I could find cost $39,000. Factor in the additional costs involved with servicing the Porsche and I know what my decision would be on which to buy.
Absolutely a blast to drive, very glad I bought one. Hardly touch my other cars these days.

Great cars! I bought an earlier 2007 G35 not knowing anything about these Asian vehicles. After buying it I couldn’t believe how well it accelerated. I took it to the track hoping to get a 15 second quarter mile. When I picked up the time ticket it punched the clock at 14.25 at 98 MPH. I was shocked to say the least. Especially since it had 260,000 miles on it. Now if I can get my wife to return it to me.
