Seeing double? Just like the famous 1979 Foreigner song, there is definitely no disguise for this double vision.

The Pick of the Day is a custom-built four-door 1965 Chevrolet C10 pickup listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Morris, Alabama. (Click the link to view the description)

Finished in Cobalt Blue and Pewter, this mega-truck is a fitting subject for a follow-up to the recent Pick of the Day discussing a Lincoln with suicide doors. It was engineered to join the cabs of two pickups, rides on an air suspension, and rolls on a custom set of Billet Specialties chrome wheels. And yes, it has suicide doors. Needless to say, this truck will undoubtedly turn heads at the local car show.

The first generation of the Chevrolet C/K-Series of pickups was introduced in 1960 and offered only in a two-door cab configuration. The design was drawn by Harley Earl and offered bed lengths in 6.5, 8, and 9-foot lengths. The exterior trim, front fascia, and cab designs were refined in the years that followed, but a rear passenger compartment was never offered from the factory.

That’s where this truck’s owner carried out a vision unlike any other and added a second row. The curb appeal takes a little getting used to, but it’s a design that seems to somehow work. Adding to its novelty as a conversation piece, the truck’s woodgrain bed planks were reportedly sourced from a 150-year-old barn in North Carolina.

That extra heft requires more power, so this pickup ditches its factory drivetrain for components that deliver the needed momentum: An LS V8 breathes through a K&N intake and sends torque to the rear wheels through a 4L60 automatic transmission.

The resto-mod treatment goes on to include generous interior appointments, starting with a two-tone leather interior, Vintage Air climate control, power windows, blue interior lighting, heated seats, and a Pioneer navigation and audio system. With a list of modern creature comforts like that, it’s hard to believe this truck is nearly 60 years old. And just in case the kiddos need some entertainment, the rear seat has an X-Box 360 and faces an 11-inch screen.

The seller is asking $70,000 or best offer for the opportunity to fill your eyes – and your garage – with this double vision.

  1. That’s- that’s awesome in the original meaning of the word. In the late ’80s, I put a ’62 Chevy panel on a ’78 C10 4×4 frame. It was cool, but rough, as I didn’t have the money nor desire to make it anything more than a work truck. This?! Just rippin’ cool.
