It was the Japanese take on the classic British roadster. The Mazda Miata made its debut in 1989 and since its debut in 1989 and since then more than 1,000,000 have been sold.
So dear readers, Do you like the Mazda Miata?

Vote and give us your take in the comments section. Like my high school history teacher always told me, “There are no wrong answers.”
My Take? Yeah, sporty and nimble. Plus reliable. That’s a great combo.
I’ve owned my 1999 10 AE for 19 trouble free fun filled years. It has adequate power and great handling. The gearbox shifts smoothly. After all these years it still goes to redline without a complaint. Still wish it had an overdrive instead of the sixth gear. I’ve added the Racing Beat intake, Racing Beat exhaust header and Racing Beat exhaust which all work together for great sounds.
I’ve owned my 2016 MX-5 for four years and have done many upgrades including Edelbrock Supercharger. What was fun to drive before the upgrades my car just got even better. Reliability, sporty and nimble just make the car a pure driver’s car. I get many compliments about the looks and many comments like “it must be a blast to drive”.
Yes, yes it is…I say with a huge smile!
I owned a 1991 NA 5-spd for 20 years. My car was quite stock other than the MINI “holey” wheels and an upgraded stereo system. Absolutely wonderful car to own & drive and probably the most reliable car I have ever owned.
It was always fun to get into that car. I only sold it because I didn’t have room for it when I replaced it with a 2008 Boxster, 6-spd (Which is even more fun to drive and a lot more comfortable).
I just retired as a car dealer, U sold 150 Miatas (preowned) and NEVER had a problem with any of them! My customers had nothing but good remarks after owning them for awhile, I kept a 2013 “Club” with the folding hard top for myself and love driving it around the many lakes in The Finger Lakes Region in upstate NY.. Having owned Ferrari’s, Aston-Martins, the Miata is much more fun to drive, NEVER breaks, easiest car to maintain, grets 33 mpg and as I’m only 5’6″ tall it suits me just fine for room,
I feel it is the best sports car ever made, the best build quality, easiest and cheapest to maintain, and puts smile on my face every time I drive it! Get one and see for yourself!
