It’s the first pony car and changed the American automotive industry. Sales have been great since its debut in 1965, 559,451 Mustangs were sold in its first year, but despite good sales numbers it has detractors.

So dear readers, what is your favorite Ford Mustang?

Give us your take in the comments section. Like my high school history teacher always told me, “There are no wrong answers.”

My Take? 1966 Mustang GT fastback.

  1. Had a 66 hardtop in 1970 when I went to college. Although not very sporty with a 200 six and automatic, it was my first car, and therefore a favorite.

  2. ‘65-‘66 Shelby GT350, what every other performance mustang strives to be. They may be faster, they may have more power, they may turn and stop better, but this was where the legend began.

  3. I like the ‘67 fastback and of course the ‘67 convertible and my other favorite is the ‘70 Mach 1 Grabber Blue 351 Cleveland with a shaker hood. But the P-51 hands down is the best of all time.

  4. 1967 GTA silver fastback . Bought the car in Washington state , when I was in the AirForce . My new wife was going to the university of Washington ,gas prices where .36 cents a gallon and that car loved it . So I got $750.00 trade in value on a one year old 1970 Nova SS small block
    Geez I love those cars

  5. 1969 GT sport roof, we are original owners. My wife purchased the car in Oct 68. Only one made with unique specs according to the Marti report. Now in process of restoration into a pro touring.

  6. 2005 Mustang V6 Deluxe. Color: Legend Lime. Black leather interior. I had one from 2006 through 2018. I really miss that car.

    • Emberglo was a beautiful, one year only color on the ’66. My ’65 Phoenician Yellow also one year only, featured in the 1st Mustang promo ad in 1964.
