A custom 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet that received a conversion to an electric powertrain is available at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Las Vegas. The conversion was conducted by Legacy EV in 2022 and took more than nine months to complete.

After a total of $61,418.90 build this Porsche now has 254hp and 346 ft/lbs of torque from dual electric motors mated to a manual transmission. It features a range of 135 theoretical miles, a 6 kW/h charge rate and a total battery capacity of 44.4 kW/h.

Also at Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas auction is a 1966 Vanden Plas limousine fit for royalty. It was ordered by the Crown Agents in preparation for Queen Elizabeth II’s arrival in Jamacia in 1966 and was produced in 1965 by Vanden Plas Works in Kingsbury, London. Governor,

After the Queen’s visit the limousine remained in Jamaica with the Governor, General Sir Clifford Campbell and was used as his official State limousine for royal visits. 

The sale includes a copy of the British Motor Industries Heritage Trust production trace certificate, a letter from Buckingham Palace, the Build Sheet and the Bill of Lading from Jamaica to the United States.

A 1978 Porsche 911 SC ‘Safari’ driven by Ken Block in the 2022 East Africa Safari Classic Rally was sold at auction for £241,000 ($303,537) by Collecting Cars.

The street legal, UK registered 911 was prepared by Tuthill Porsche and is powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six engine from a 911 SC. The engine was rebuilt to safari specifications and sends power to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential. 

The car’s shell was stripped down to blasted back to bare metal before it was strengthened. Tuthill Porsche spent approximately 350 hours strengthening the shell with double-skin plating and reinforcement. The exterior is finished in Ken Block’s 2021 “It’s A Living” livery.

Classic Car Auctions of the United Kingdom is offering a rare UK-spec 1996 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo. The right-hand drive Supra is finished in Rosso (3L2) and received an underbody restoration that included a powder-coated sub-frame and suspension parts.

It’s powered by a 2JZ-GTE, twin-turbo 2997cc straight-six engine that produced a factory-rated 325bhp and the engine is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The listing states that the Supra has 77,950 miles and was fully recommissioned at a cost of £33,000 ($41,527).
