DeLorean released images and specs of its upcoming Alpha5 electric vehicle. The DeLorean Alpha5 makes it world premiere at the Pebble Beach Concours d ‘Elegance on August 18.
“We have been given the opportunity to reimagine a brand that has meant so much to so many people from all corners of the globe, for 4 decades,” said Neilo Harris, vice president brand and creative for DeLorean. “DeLorean has touched so many lives and set the stage for so many memories…we are all now witnessing a new chapter in this amazing story.”
All specs are estimates but DeLorean boasts that the Alpha5 has a 100 kWh battery, 300+ miles of range on a charge, will go from 0-60 mph in 2.99 seconds, and has a top speed of 155 mph.
“There was this enormous responsibility to make sure we honored the history of the DeLorean brand, but an even greater responsibility in curating its future,” said Troy Beetz, chief marketing officer of DeLorean. “I think we did both with the Alpha5.”
Please keep me informed about this “Historic” vehicle and future releases.
Love it.
Future to the back?
It is a beautiful car. But it turn me off when is electric
This is one sequel that might be better than the original.
Here come the car that was a master the president of the company just needed some backing this a strong car was ahead of it time, now electric reintroduce at the right timing it will be a completive on in this market with no problem.
step aside all you electric let the DeLorean com on in it category.
Electric? Strike my former
Comment.
Looks cool. But for you tree huggers what is our fantastic government going to do with the battery’s in all these electric cars. You can’t recycle them. Is Biden or Pelosi going to hide them.
No Mark, the old batteries will be buried in your back yard.
Can we have any conversation without the political crap?
right on !!
No, because GM and the rest of the MAGAts are bitter pseudo theocrats who wish ill on anyone not wealthy, white, and pretend “Christian”. Oddly, the object of their slobbering worship is multiply bankrupted, despises his worshippers, and paints itself orange. Sigh.
That about sums it up Ryan.
Sorry, GM, site won’t allow edits or corrects, even though most of us have kids grabbing phones whenever backs turn. Sigh.
ah so someone else has the truth.
Electric is a great next step. Combustion engines can’t get us to the promised Jetson’s land.
Maybe the next hip trend will not be converting combustion vehicles to electric but converting electric vehicles to combustion! 🙂
Yeah I don’t want to drive it to Florida every year back-and-forth and have to stop five times for three hours to charge it so it’s over 18 hour trip it’s gonna be a 30 hour trip and then if there’s a hurricane I have to evacuate is enough charging stations for the electric cars are stupid ridiculous you need combustion Austin feels to create electricity
you would buy it if gas powered..?? so go buy a original car..got the cash ???
Looks slick, and electric. Amazing!
When will it be out
Please post a video with sound. Mmmmm? How exciting.
Got a sewing machine? Plug that thing in and listen to the sound. That will get you real close…
Woke B.S. Don’t park it in the garage. Read up on battery fires.
and leaky fuel pump fires ..
Leaky fuel pump fires? Yeah, that’s not a thing. Fuel on the ground simply evaporates.
probably will be a 3 year waiting list.
Do a little studying folks. This is a car that’s been known for over a year it is for the most part a re-bodied Tesla. Well it certainly is better looking than the Tesla it doesn’t move the ball forward if you are truly a fan boy of electric cars
$175,000
100MW…not 1.21 Gigawatts?
So disappointed!
I would buy it if it was fuel…
If it had an internal combustion engine, I’d buy one. Electric only, not interested…
I know where you can get a big supply of buggy whips and wagon wheels since you want to live in the past.
