Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E.
“This modified 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E is a limited-production European-market sport sedan that was developed jointly with Porsche and later custom-tuned by Azzurre Motoring in Japan,” AutoHunter notes in the listing. “Power is sent to the ground through 19-inch Carlsson wheels on low-profile tires.”
The exterior was taken down to the bare metal and repainted Deep Blue Metallic. It has a shaved hood ornament and trunk lock, a solid roof, and blacked-out badging.
This Mercedes features gray Louis Vuitton suede and black leather front bucket seats with a matching rear bench seat. It has a stainless-steel AMG-branded door sills, aluminum pedals, a Raid Porsche steering wheel, and marble-finish trim.
Under the hood of this this W124 500E is a rebuilt 5.0-liter M119 V8 with a factory-rated 322 bhp and 354 foot-pounds of torque when new. The engine bay has a rebuilt engine harness and strut bar for increased rigidity. It’s been upgraded with a cat-back exhaust system that retains the factory catalytic converters. The engine is paired with a rebuilt four-speed 722 automatic transmission.
The sale includes a clear Florida title, service records, three keys, books, and manuals.
This Mercedes’ auction ends on May 9, 2022, at 12:20 p.m. (PDT).
