Another collector car auction will be added to Monterey Car Week this year when Broad Arrow Auctions holds its inaugural live sale August 17 alongside Hagerty’s Motorworks Revival at The Monterey Jet Center.
The live auction will be a boutique event with about 80 high-value automobiles, according to the company, which was established in 2021 as the Broad Arrow Group, comprising the auction company, Collectors Garage, and Broad Arrow Capital.
The auction will offer “highly curated and significant collector cars,” according to Kenneth Ahn, chief executive of Broad Arrow Group, which has a partnership arrangement with Hagerty.
“We are excited to partner with Hagerty and their recently acquired Motorworks Revival to produce a world class experience during Monterey Car Week,” Ahn added.
Formerly called the McCall’s Motorworks Revival, the annual event was acquired recently by Hagerty collector car insurance and valuation. The revival is an exclusive gathering and cocktail party that celebrates Monterey Car Week in California in the company of valuable collector cars and private jets.
In January, Hagerty and Broad Arrow Group announced a strategic partnership named Hagerty Marketplace, designed to offer “new services for buying and selling collector cars. The August auction would be part of that new partnership.
Broad Arrow, which received a strategic investment from Hagerty, is made up primarily of former staff members of RM Sotheby’s auction company. Under the new arrangement, four of Broad Arrow’s founders —Ahn, Alain Squindo, Ian Kelleher and Mike Mortorano —work for Hagerty, with Ahn holding the titles of chief executive officer of Broad Arrow and president of the Marketplace.
A few other well-known names in the collector car community have been added to Broad Arrow’s roster: Ramsey Potts as chief sales officer and senior car specialist and David Swig as a senior car specialist. Also joining the company is UK-based lending specialist Nicholas Barton as director of financial services.
