The Mustang is from the final year of the popular Fox-body models

With the growing interest in Fox-body Mustangs, the Pick of the Day rings the bell, a one-owner 1993 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 notchback in Black, its V8 power boosted by a Paxton supercharger.

This was the final year for these classic models, and the LX was the upmarket version, this Mustang equipped with the desirable 5-speed manual transmission, all the better to wring the most sporty performance from the supercharged pony car.

“This Mustang is ready to bring lots of enjoyment,” says the Benson, North Carolina, dealer advertising the car on ClassicCars.com. “The Paxton supercharger makes for a very exciting addition to the already thrilling 5.0L and 5-speed manual combo. Finished in a sleek Black clearcoat paint covering the black interior, you will be sure to turn heads.”

The paint and trim show well, the seller says, and the 5-spoke pony wheels are free of curb rash.  The Mustang runs great, the seller adds, with mileage just over 73,000.

“Helping power this 5.0 is a SN93 Paxton supercharger,” the seller notes. “This supercharger was professionally installed and has a very clean and factory-like look under the hood.

“Upon first startup, you will be extremely pleased by the sound this Mustang produces. After passing through long-tube headers and a custom exhaust, the sound is very discrete at idle while producing a great, aggressive sound while accelerating. This engine runs smooth with more than enough power to get where you need to go!”

The Mustang’s interior is also very nice, the seller says, with few signs of wear and obviously well-maintained by its single owner.

“The interior is extremely clean and shows little to no wear,” the ad says. “The seats are clean and plush, a very comfortable place to sit. The dash is free and clean of any cracks or fading. The gauges are clean and crisp. All panels of this interior are extremely clean and show very well. The factory A/C works great.”

The asking price is $29,500, which seems reasonable for such a clean and performance-tweaked example of a classic Mustang.

“With one owner, low miles, a 5-speed transmission, and a supercharger, it’s hard to beat this final production year ‘notchback’,” the seller concludes.

  1. The engine compartment looks interesting and impressive, but the car looks more like a Honda Accord than a Ford Mustang. So sad!
