The family of speed record-setters Malcolm and Donald Campbell have joined with RetroClassic Clothing of the UK to launch a series of T-shirts celebrating the Campbell’s record-setting history on land and water.
Featuring photographs from the Campbell Family Heritage Trust, the shirts feature the aero-engined Sunbeam on the Pendine Sands, the 1935 Campbell-Railton Blue Bird at Bonneville, the Bluebird K7 hydroplane, and the Bluebird CN7 that exceeded 400 mph.
“Sir Malcolm and Donald were both exceedingly brave and talented men,” said Don Wales, grandson of Malcolm and the holder in his own right of several speed records. “It doesn’t matter if it was on water or land, jet-powered or wheel-driven, the Campbell name became synonymous with record-breaking.
“Our family is very proud to be working with RetroClassic on this beautifully produced range of T-shirts, which are a fitting tribute to a period of time in which two patriotic Brits pushed themselves to the limit – and sometimes beyond – in the single-minded pursuit of speed.”
The shirts are offered in Heather Grey, Sand or White, and join a RetroClassic Clothing range that celebrates iconic aircraft, classic hot-rods, motorcycles and other evocative machines from decades past.
