You have a chance to win this 1968 Shelby GT500 King of the Road packed with a powerful Cobra Jet V8 and designed with unique styling features in The Cobra Experience’s sweepstakes event.

“By 1968, the Ford Mustang had already gained iconic status, being a popular choice among U.S. sports car enthusiasts due to its lightweight design, powerful drivetrains and aggressive looks,” The Cobra Experience museum says on the sweepstakes website.

In April of that year, Ford created a brand-new version of the 428 cubic-inch Cobra Jet V8 engine that featured improved breathing heads and larger manifolds. This powerhouse was dropped into the range-topping Shelby GT500 to create the GT500 KR or King of the Road.

Also making the GT500 KR special are the distinctive design features like the big vents on top of the front grille highlighted by fog lamps and Ford Thunderbird-sourced taillights to give the car a wider stance at the rear.

This Shelby GT500 KR example is finished in Candy Apple Red with white Shelby stripes above the side skirts. Other exterior features include twist lock hood pins, twin exhausts at the rear, chrome bumpers and GT500 KR graphics on the front fenders.
