Is James Bond taking over AutoHunter? European cars found on the online auction’s docket

It’s my week to go through the various cars for sale on the AutoHunter auction site and pick the cars that I would most want to bring home.

I will say upfront that I am in a bit of a European car mood after seeing the latest James Bond film, so if you are not interested in sporting European cars with a bit of a Bond theme you might disagree with my picks.

However, if you do like 007 and cars from Europe, I may have found just the car you are looking for within these picks:

2000 Aston Martin Vantage Volante

I know it’s a convertible, but so what? It’s also an Aston Martin. I personally owned a DB7 myself and it was one of the most beautiful cars I have ever owned.

This specific car has covered only 27,489 miles from new and looks to be in amazing condition. The owner states this car is finished in Mendip Blue with a dark blue power convertible top over a two-tone blue and cream Connolly leather interior. The car also includes its service history.

The DB7s are somehow still the best value Aston Martin cars available, at least for now.

1999 Mercedes Benz SL500

The R129 Mercedes roadsters were in many ways the first modern Mercedes SL. They are both more sporty and more comfortable than any SL that came before, other than the original 300SL roadsters.

This, like the DB7 above, is another car that you can buy for a fraction of what they cost new and was a direct competitor with the DB7. This specific car looks to be immaculate with a total mileage of only 11,000 miles from new.

Recent service items include new brake pads, valve cover gasket, radiator, and tires with work done by Mercedes-Benz of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Typically in Bond films, the villains drive Mercedes cars and if you see yourself more as Blofeld than 007, you might want to consider this nice SL500.

1996 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas

While not a sporting car like the other two, this one still ties in with my theme, being the kind of transportation that would be used by M in the 007 films.

This specific XJ6 is the Vanden Plas model, which effectively means that it was equipped with every option available at the time. This is also a one-owner example that has covered only 66,000 miles from new.

These days most examples of the 3rd generation XJ6, codenamed X300, have been driven into the ground, but from the included pictures of this specific car, it looks to be one of the best examples I have seen in years.

So, if running things from the home office is more your style than being out in the action, this beautiful XJ6 is just the ticket.

2004 Porsche Carrera 4S

Much like Mercedes, the Porsche 911 has also been a villain’s car in one of the 007 films, specifically Colonel Tan-Sun moon in Die Another Day.

This specific 996-era 911 features a 6-speed manual gearbox and is finished in Slate Grey Metallic over a black full-leather interior. The seller describes it as having 40,000 original miles and a replacement IMS Bearing.

These 996 era Porsche 911 cars were a veritable bargain a year or so ago but the prices and interest in these phenomenal cars have increased and the ones with low miles and service records, which this car also has, are becoming more and more desirable.
