Carroll Shelby Licensing and Dallas-based Classic Recreations are launching Shelby Garage, which they term “a one-stop shop for service, repair and modification of late-model American muscle cars and trucks.”

“Distinguished from Shelby American in Las Vegas, which converts (new Ford) vehicles into officially licensed Shelbys that are included in the Shelby Worldwide Registry, Shelby Garage will meet the needs of a variety of late muscle car and truck enthusiasts who are looking for performance and appearance upgrades to their current vehicle,” according to the announcement.

“Carroll Shelby was the father of American muscle, so it only makes sense for the Shelby brand to evolve into providing service, performance and aesthetic upgrades for all American muscle vehicles,” Jason Engel, founder and vice president of design and engineering at  Classic Recreations, is quoted in the news release.

“When asked to develop this brand, the focus was filling a need for people who’ve had a hard time finding a shop that understands the unique needs of a high performance vehicle in contrast to the average driver. Just like Carroll did with the early Ford Mustangs, our goal is to help enthusiasts make their vehicles truly one of a kind.”

The first Shelby Garage is in Dallas, Texas, in a 95,000-square-foot facility. Dallas also is the home to Classic Recreations and, the news release notes, “not coincidentally… (the city) where Mr. Shelby got his start.”

In addition to trained technicians with years of experience working on officially licensed Shelby and other high-performance vehicles, Shelby Garage also features a full online retail store which sells parts, apparel and accessories.

  1. Hi Larry – I want to announce the publication of our new book, “Full Circle: A Hands-on Affair with the First Ferrari 250 GTO,” by my wife Petra and I. It’s a personal memoir of a decades-long relationship with chassis no. 3223 GT, and the ups and downs of this iconic car’s “career.” Beginning with my acquisition of it from Bob Grossman in 1963, and ending with its status today. it’s a sort of romantic saga of the passions stirred by classic racing machinery.

The book will be out next month (Set. 2021).
Please have a look at the website and see what you think.

    Best regards,
    Larry Perkins
