For the 13th time, Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing have unveiled a car and a boat that share not only their color schemes but their high-performance heritage. This year it’s a Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series and matching 2,250-horsepower Cigarette 41-foot Nighthawk AMG Blck Series watercraft.
“The new Cigarette 41′ Nighthawk AMG Black Series promises direct and unfiltered performance, combined with iconic design and luxurious features, with exclusivity and craftsmanship unlike any other performance boat in its segment,” Mercedes-AMG said in its news release.
“The 41’ Nighthawk AMG Edition draws on Cigarette’s advanced engineering, utilizing cutting-edge elements such as a unique twin-step hull design to deliver its remarkable on-water performance.
“A low center of gravity, which improves handling, and light overall weight, which improves speed, have been achieved using a completely carbon-fiber deck and an all carbon-fiber hardtop design. Intelligent use of composite materials and proprietary construction techniques improve structural integrity, delivering enhanced ride comfort and composed handling characteristics in even the most demanding conditions.”
The Magmabeam orange and black livery of the car and watercraft is the result of collaboration between the Cigarette Racing Team and Mercedes-AMG design staff.
The Nighthawk features five racing-grade outboard engines, each a 4.67-liter Mercury Racing 450R V8. Even being as large as it is, with room for as many as 10 people, the boat has a top speed of 90 mph.
The boat also features Cigarette Cool upholstery designed to dissipate heat, so dark sections remain comfortable even when exposed to consistent sun and heat.
The AMG GT Black Series car has only a single V8 engine, but it is hand-built and produces 720 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. The car accelerates to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of 202 mph. It will be available this summer in US dealerships with a base price of $325,000.
Pricing for the Nighthawk watercraft has not been announced.
