AutoHunter Spotlight: 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu

First-year Malibu with refreshed 350cid Chevy V8 up for auction

-

Today’s AutoHunter Spotlight is on a 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu two-door hardtop, a first-year Malibu model that has undergone a mechanical refresh and interior upgrade.

The first-year models of the Malibu debuted on the GM A-Body platform that was marketed as a “larger, body-on-frame sibling to the smaller Chevy II unibody model,” says the seller auctioning the car on AutoHunter.

This example is resprayed in white.

Inside, you’ll find reupholstered gray vinyl seats with contrasting black door panels, dash pad and carpeting. Equipped is a vintage-looking AM/FM radio and an aftermarket ididit three-spoke steering wheel.

Power comes from a 350cid small-block Chevy V8 crate engine mated to a 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic 350 operated by a B&M floor-mounted shifter.

This Malibu’s auction ends June 21 at 11:20 a.m. PDT.

  1. This sports coupe is just like my first car in high school, except I had the in-line six. Summertime, all the windows down and the wing-vents all the way out with the radio turned up on the local rock-n-roll radio station–that’s memories.
