Racheal picks her favorite classic trucks on AutoHunter

As I checked out next week’s AutoHunter docket, the online collector car auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, I found a group of classic American trucks in the mix that caught my eye.

AutoHunter has more to see of course, but if you’re looking for a fun yet practical truck, consider one of these:

1951 Chevrolet 3100

This bright red, 5-window pickup received a body-off restoration, and it looks like the hard work paid off.

The seller kept the truck as original as possible during the restoration, including the hood, fenders, running boards and box sides. The bed was nicely redone with new oak planks and stainless hardware.

Under the hood, the original engine was replaced with a 235cid straight-six engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with a floor-mounted shifter.

1965 Ford F100 Stepside

After working on a farm in Georgia, the current seller brought the truck to Pennsylvania after purchasing and replaced the points, plugs, condenser and repaired a transmission leak.

Powering the truck is a 390cid Thunderbird V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic.

The interior is finished in red vinyl with pleated cloth inserts.  

With only 15,000 miles showing on the odometer, this truck is ready to get back to work.

1972 Chevrolet K10

This matching-numbers 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne 4×4 has been lightly customized with Hugger Orange paint and a 4-inch lift.

A 350cid V8 engine with a recently rebuilt top end and aftermarket headers powers the truck and is mated to a rebuilt 3-speed automatic transmission.

The orange-and-black interior features a pleated vinyl bench seat, tilt steering wheel and an aftermarket head unit and door speaker covers.
